Houlton have taken on over 370 apprentices and support them for the full three years enabling to complete their qualifications. Currently, of their 132 employees, 17 have completed apprenticeships 10 apprentices are currently in training and 6 staff member on higher-level courses and training.
In all, 25% have been through or are undertaking training. Internal staff investment is key to trying to bridge the skills gap within the industry, their current Construction Director is a particular success story as he started his Houlton career as an apprentice bricklayer as his father before him.
