Work is underway to build a new Broadacre Primary School in Hull, increasing capacity by 210 pupil places to create a 630-place school.
The new build is needed following the rise and expansion of local housing and the existing building will be demolished once pupils and staff move in during February 2022. New school playing fields will open once the pitches are established.
The new school will also include one of Hull’s first purpose-built bases for young children with Autistic Spectrum Condition consisting of 10 places, a 52-place nursery, enhanced external spaces and teaching areas, and a fenced multi-use games area.
Sewell Construction has been appointed to build the new school, which is part of the Humber Education Trust. Initial works will include creating a new car park and digging deep drainage before moving onto the building footprint, laying the foundations and later erecting the steel structure.
