Two Esteem projects have been recognised at a major awards.
The Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards took place in Leeds, with Hull projects represented in three different categories.
The refurbishment of Albert Avenue Pools and Fitness by Hobson and Porter was highly commended in the Building Project of the Year category, with the striking lido and indoor pool catching the eyes of the judges.
Sewell Construction’s refurbishment of the former Central Fire Station into the state-of-the-art STEAM Studios was the winner of the Regeneration and Retrofit category, with the judges being impressed by the long-term view the refurbishment took towards the carbon footprint of the studio, ensuring the fabric of the building was upgraded so the site will use less energy to heat in future, helping the UTC on its journey to net zero.
The STEAM Studios were also then awarded the overall ‘Best of the Best’ prize of the night, with the project being put forward to the national award finals in November.
